A baker (James Corden) and his wife (Emily Blunt) are sent by a witch (Meryl Streep) to collect a red cape, a white cow, golden hair and a gold shoe from the woods. This is a musical mixture of various fairy stories (Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Jack and the bean stalk, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood). This has a strong cast but the plot is disappointing and the music and lyrics are bland despite being written by Stephen Sondheim.
